2019 Jaguar XE Project 8 Touring
With Jaguar turning to an all-electric future, the Project 8 is sure to go down amongst the all-time greats. Launched in 2017 as a track focused version of the XE road car, it set the Nürburgring lap record for a Saloon car with a hugely impressive 7 min 21.230 lap. In 2019 Jaguar then broke its own record again in the Project 8 with a 7min 18.361sec.
The Project 8 had undergone a drastic redesign when compared to the standard XE upon which it is based. In fact, the front doors and roof are the only panels that were carried over. Visually the Project 8 has wider rear arches with aggressive cutaways behind the rear wheels, it is also bathed in carbon fibre with all new front and rear splitters as well as carbon side skirts.
The Project 8 featured a host of ‘firsts’ for a Jaguar road car, it was the first model to be completely handled by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) at their new technical centre in Warwickshire. At the time of launch it was the most powerful Jaguar ever, it was also the first Jaguar road car to utilise carbon ceramic brakes.
At the end of the run of 200 XE Project 8s Jaguar built just 15 cars to touring specification. The touring specification meant that the car lost the huge GT racer style rear wing and came as standard with a set of rear seats instead of a roll cage. It’s really as subtle and usable as a record breaking 600bhp super saloon can be!
This car has covered less than 6,000 miles from new, always being cared for by experts. We even bought it directly from the Jaguar Heritage fleet. It is ready to be enjoyed, whether that be roaring round a track or tackling the school run.
