  • A stunning Ducati from the 2012 MotoGP season, which was raced by Nicky Hayden in the final year of the Italian team’s Rossi era.

For the 2012 season a shake up of the rules saw the reintroduction of a 1,000cc engine size, having been reduced to 800cc in 2007.

This allowed the opportunity to address the restriction of the original ‘L’ 90 degree cylinder configuration that had been the signature of Ducati’s for many decades finally gave way to a brand new ‘V’ configuration engine, which allowed far more flexibility in engine - and therefore weight positioning - with the introduction of the brand new aluminium chassis of the GP12.0.

Easily identified as the earlier REB (Rotated Engine Bike) GP12 chassis by the single piece seat design, this Ducati saw action in the hands of Nicky Hayden during the first half of the season as ‘NH1’ where the 2006 World Champion racked up 8 top ten finishes.

The best of these were 6th place finishes, which were achieved fresh out the box at Qatar’s opening round and again in France & Netherlands.
