  • An exciting, FIA-spec and original factory built SLS GT3, which has had just one previous owner and has never been raced.

Launched in 2009, the SLS AMG revived arguably one of the most iconic car designs of all time - the Gullwing - but this wouldn’t just be a visual homage. Like its predecessor nearly 60 years before, the SLS would compete at the premier level of GT & endurance racing and prove to be a highly capable race car.

Racing in an array of national championships around the world and of course the international FIA GT Championship, the SLS GT3 has cultivated an impressive portfolio of wins at all the great circuits from the Nürburgring to Bathurst and Yas Marina to Zandvoort. A win at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2013 broke Mercedes’ 49-year dry spell at the renowned endurance race, having last taken an outright win there in 1964.

Of the approximately 86 SLS GT3s to have been built, you might expect that all of them were bought by racing teams. But not this one.

Built in 2011, the first year of GT3 production, this SLS was ordered new by a gentleman who simply fancied something for occasional track days! Whereas most people might look to Radical, Caterham or something like Porsche’s 911 RS for a track day car, this gentleman went straight in at the top with a full FIA-spec and factory built race car.

With it’s 600+bhp front-mid mounted 6.2 V8, sub-1,350kg weight and huge aero, this will almost certainly be the fastest car on any track day; something we have been fortunate enough to discover at both Silverstone and Ascari.

The first owner kept the car for seven years accruing only minimal running time and JRT, the Jordan Racing Team of the infamous touring car racing family, were entrusted to look after it. As you’d expect the Mercedes is presented today in exemplary condition, having never raced or been crashed and is surely the most original example in existence.

Now publicly available for the first time, this SLS GT3 is perfect for exhilarating track days, is an ideal mount for circuit & driver training, or would complete any serious collection of both Mercedes and competition cars.
