An extraordinary collection of legendary models

About Historic Classics

Henry Pearman is best known for his dedication to the Jaguar E-Type, and his company Eagle E-Types which has, since 1982, been a great success.

Jeremy Clarkson declared that the Eagle E-Type was his favourite car of all time, and Quentin Willson described it as 'probably the best hand-built car in the world'.  Historic Classics is based at the Sussex estate that's also the home to Eagle, and this private collection of true classic cars has been Henry's passion, with the same eye toward quality and uniqueness that has long been the trademark of Eagle. Every example offered here is a special and exceptional example of a motoring legend - carefully and patiently acquired over the years.

Henry himself has been a lifelong enthusiast of special motor cars. From a beginning tinkering with MG Midgets at the age of 14, he was named 'Young Driver of the Year' at 16, and embarked on a lifetime of appreciating and collecting classic motor cars. After working for a Rolls Royce and Ferrari specialists, he settled down with Eagle Racing Ltd. through the 1980's.

His racing career included a sensational win in the 1989 Pirelli Classic Marathon against a myriad of famous drivers including Sir Stirling Moss, Roger Clark and Paddy Hopkirk. Motorsport, particularly Le Mans and Group C racing, has always been a primary interest of Henry's and from the very first time he went to Le Mans in 1983 he had dreamed of owning one of those incredible machines. Inevitably he was to become more involved in racing throughout the course of time and has since taken in various forms of motorsport including the Pirelli Porsche Cup.

Henry now owns an extraordinary collection of important historic Group C racing cars and has competed in such events as the legendary  Le Mans 24hr support race and the current Group C racing series. He became the Group C racing 2008 champion having shared the car with Mike Wilds.

Every car presented on this website reflects his passion for what is great about the motor car - and shows how patience, experience and a keen eye for a true classic can make a collection that can be truly described as 'Historic Classics'.
