A beautifully restored 1958 100-6 in superb condition

Austin-Healey's production of sports cars started in 1953 with the highly successful 100-4. 1956 saw the introduction of the new 6 cylinder model named the 100-6, of which this is a rare, two seater, UK supplied RHD model. This 1958 example has been subject to a substantial full body off restoration in 1994.

Complete with an uprated engine engine by Orchard Engineering and featuring a 6 branch full stainless steel sports exhaust system , Mk 111 remote type gear change conversion and a full brake and steering upgrade by John Chatham, this 100-6 is tremendous fun to drive.

The history file dates back forty years and even includes the original suppliers invoice from the 6th of June 1958. Also included is the detailed engineer’s report post restoration, at 74,605 miles and details of much of the work that has been undertaken over the years - including a rebuilt engine back in 1976. You can see how rarely the car has been used by referencing the 1970 MOT with 71,724 miles driven, and the post restoration MOT (1994) having only 74,614!

The condition is of course superb and post-restoration the work has continued, with a front disc upgrade, new servo and steering box 3,000 miles ago. Also fitted was an uprated gas flowed unleaded cylinder head, new valves and sports cam together with rebuilt carburettors and sports exhaust system, all by Orchard Restorations, with less than 2,000 miles covered since.
